Members of Association of Students from Kurdistan (YXK) have occupied the Sparkasse Bank in the German city of Saarbrücken to protest at the bank for freezing the account of an aid campaign for Rojava, West Kurdistan.

Entering the bank with the flags of the Kurdish freedom movement, and chanting slogans, the students opened banners which read „End to the embargo against Rojava-lift the PKK ban“, „hindering aid for Rojava stands for supporting ISIS“, „long live YPG/YPJ“, and „long live Kobanê, Sinjar, Mahabad“.

YXK activists who issued a statement here condemned the isolation of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan and racist attacks on HDP, also warned the AKP government over ISIS.

Demonstrators, who are also being supported by activists of Ciwanen Azad and German left-wing organizations, demanded a meeting with the bank authorities and the mayor.
